Peoria Public Schools Special Services

Our Vision
The Peoria Public Schools Special Services Division is a premier provider of comprehensive educational services for students with special needs...supporting students' growth in an empowering environment.

Special Services Program
The Special Services Division provides a wide variety of appropriate instructional, resource, and related services in the least restrictive environment to children with disabilities.  To receive services, the child must have a disability, which adversely affects his/her performance.  For these children, an Individualized Education Program shall be developed with appropriate goals and objectives.  Based on the student's IEP, individualized services will be provided through graduation or the child's 22nd birthday as appropriate.

When parents suspect their child may have a disability, they should consult their school principal.  Additional information regarding access to special education services can be obtained by contacting the director at 672-6778.
